This is a multi-location film festival, with 3 separate programs covering different states in the “pine country”.
The Woodlands, Texas is a suburb of Houston, but it is known for it’s commitment to keeping trees and nature at the forefront of development. There is a thriving arts community in The Woodlands, and several groups and companies producing visual media as well. Check out the website for the Woodlands Area Film Commission and also the Houston Area Film Commission to learn more about this neck of the woods.
Minden, Louisiana is the site of one set of screenings, just outside Shreveport (July 25-26th, 2015). The Festival Director grew up in this area, among the towering pine trees and long winding roads. In the past 10 years, Louisiana has seen a huge boom in the film and television industry, mostly because of generous State tax incentives. We hope to connect with the local film community as well as anyone interested in the arts as a whole. Read more about this area from the Webster Parish Visitor’s Bureau.
For South Arkansas, a screening location has not been determined. It will likely be in Texarkana, but may occur in Magnolia or El Dorado. If you are interested in assisting with this area, please shoot us an email.
